What is the OBM Club?

The OBM Club is Bedford Modern School’s Alumni Association, founded in 1892 to enable its members to maintain and enjoy the friendships made in their school days and to promote the welfare and development of the School. All former students who are 16 years of age and older on leaving school, and former staff members who have worked at BMS for two or more years, automatically become Old Bedford Modernians and can begin taking advantage of the School's alumni network.

The School has managed the OBM Club through the BMS External Relations Team since 2016, and arrangements for its supervision were summarised in the Memorandum of Understanding.

The OBM Club President for 2019-2023 is Robin Wills (1960-69), who was elected to this honorary position in an open vote by members of the OBM Club.

What is the OBM and BMS Community Network?

The OBM and BMS Community Network is a purpose-built site for use exclusively by our wider alumni network. It has become clear that the External Relations Team has something to offer everyone with a special relationship to BMS, including former students, former staff, former parents, donors and friends of the School. The site offers many features for all of these groups, such as:

  • Stories, interviews, features and updates
  • Information and artefacts from our School Archive
  • The ability to reconnect with and message other OBMs who have online profiles on the site
  • A busy and varied events calendar
  • Past copies of our annual publication, Eagle News, to view and download
  • Access to photos from previous events
  • Access to our budding careers and mentoring programme

We encourage you to sign up, explore the site and take advantage of the features which may interest or benefit you.
