DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
We are looking for a self-motivated engineering student to work alongside our talented team of mechanical and electrical engineers. We have projects that are mechanical based, with some opportunities to get hands on with instrumentation design. The year will give you a varied and diverse insight into the design process of bringing a product to market and give you the chance to get involved with multiple projects at various stages of development. Much of the work will involve testing an aspect of our products during the design development phase or developing the equipment to carry out testing. We are therefore looking for someone with strong experimental and problem solving skills.
You will be supported during the project by your line manager. Working in a fast-paced, innovative, start-up environment will develop both your technical and soft skills whilst giving you invaluable industry experience. Where required, relevant training will be provided including on-the-job learning. There will be opportunities to develop your communication skills when presenting your work to the rest of the team. You will be responsible for managing your workload and may have the chance to work on multiple projects simultaneously, improving your time and task-management.
The role will be based in our offices in central Oxford, a 10min walk from the train station. We work a flexible 7.5hr day, start times ranging from 7:30 – 9:30 depending on your preference, 5 days a week. We have 40 employees and a great team atmosphere. We have a young, dynamic engineering team; many cycle to work and we usually walk to somewhere to get lunch during our 1hr lunch break.

KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Currently in 2nd or later year studying a relevant engineering degree and on track for at least a 2:1
- Good analytical skills
- A logical approach to problem solving
- Basic CAD skills (we use SolidWorks)

- Proven experience in report writing and data analysis
