The President of the OBM Club is an honorary position which supports the External Relations Team in the management of the BMS alumni association. From Monday 11 November 2024 we are inviting applications from our alumni for the position of OBM Club President for the period 2025-2027.
In the Memorandum of Understanding, which was put into place when the school took over the management of the OBM Club, certain criteria were stipulated regarding this appointment. This includes the following:
• The President will act as the figurehead for the OBM Club and serve a maximum two-year term of office. Upon appointment, the President will have the remit to engage or re-engage OBMs and help to support school fundraising campaigns.
• The President will have the necessary skills and attributes to act as a figurehead for the OBM Club and will be comfortable speaking in public.
• The President is required to attend certain events such as the Christmas Lunch, the Founder’s Dinner and the London Lunch, and would be expected to attend others (which could be school events) where appropriate.
Applications will be open from 9am Monday 11 November until 12pm on Monday 13 January 2025.
If you have any questions on the nature of this position and the commitment it entails, as well as any queries about the application process, then please contact Emma Adkins, Alumni Relations Manager on eadkins@bedmod.co.uk.
Tony Wildman (1960-67), OBM Club President 2023-2025
I was honoured to be elected OBM Club President and I'm thoroughly enjoying my tenure of two years. It is a chance to give something back to the school and the OBM Club, but also provides the opportunity to bring focus onto those aspects of the club’s activities that I feel are important. The time required to fulfil the role is not onerous other than a commitment to attend the limited number of OBM events through the year. The OBM team in school do a great job in organising and running these events and are a tremendous support in making my role as President largely stress free and enjoyable.
