The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

In celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we thought it would be fitting to share some insights from the School Archive of the Royal Visit to BMS on Tuesday 11 May 1976. The Queen, along with His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, unveiled a commemorative plaque which can still be seen in our main Reception area, toured the school and met staff and students along the way. She concluded her visit by planting an English Oak on the grass verge in the middle of the gyratory. This was a unique and exciting experience for all involved, and a proud day in the long history of BMS.
