On the weekend of 15-17 November, a group of OBMs took part in a charity cycle ride to raise funds for various motor neurone disease (MND) charities, following Simon Christian's (1981-90) recent diagnosis of the disease.

Simon joined the Bedford Belly Busters cycling group two years ago and cycled most Saturday mornings, establishing some great friendships along the way, and it was these new friends, along with some other friends and family members that came up with the idea of the challenge.

They cycled 180 miles, starting in Bedford, and climbing 3,072 metres of incline, finishing off in Headingley, Leeds, for the inaugural 745 rugby game - a tribute to Rugby League legend Rob Burrow CBE who died earlier this year from complications associated with MND.

Cameron Glanville (1980-85) was the group leader, also taking part in the cycle ride along with Blair Clow (1980-89) and John Fordham (1970-80). Will Stanbridge (1979-90) and Ed Osborn (1979-90) travelled the route in support vehicles.
