The 2022/23 academic year has now come to an end and staff and students said farewell to Alex Tate who has been the Headmaster of BMS for six years.

Mr Tate led the school skilfully through the COVID-19 pandemic, arguably the most challenging of situations in recent history. He navigated continually shifting sands, met every additional demand made of schools and at every point put the continuing education and safety of students first. His drive and enthusiasm for all areas of school life is unrivalled and the many messages of gratitude and goodwill from members of the whole BMS community this week is testimony to the high esteem in which he is held. The school has gone from strength to strength under his leadership and we will miss him enormously.

We feel sure you will want to join us in thanking him for all that he has done here at BMS and wish him every success for the future.

We will look forward to welcoming David Payne as the new Headmaster in January 2024. In the interim period, Andrew Whomsley will acting Head, with support from the wider Senior Leadership Team.
